Well off the beaten path, original limited edition vinyl underground folkpsych collectible, besides being a future price riser (no doubt about it) -- it's also a really good album, so many would be hard pressed to part with it, once sinking the teeth into what's instore....
Just pay attention here… you may be tempted to skip this because of the late
date, but you’d making a big mistake…spooky folk/psych with sparse instrumentation
of acoustic guitar,some distorted wah/wah electric guitar parts and synthesizer and
Jim Collin’s haunted vocals create a dark and creepy,chilly atmosphere…play this in
the dark with a couple of candles and you’ll likely give yourself the chills…the only
reference points I can conjure up for you are Perry Leopold,Nick Drake,Skip Spence,
Peter Grudzien,Bobb Trimble,Charlie Tweddle,Simon Finn but the truth is that this is
a very unique piece of art and could have come anywhere from the late 6o’s up to
the present…
THe album is housed in psyched purple and burnt orange haunted field cover artwork and was
pressed in less than 500 copies…already seen it on e-Bay for over $150…
JIM COLLINS "Music Performed by The High Mass" on the Prosper label is one of the best examples of "loner acid downer psychedelic folk" you may likely ever hear. Most importantly, unlike other "acid folk psych" records where you're left wondering where they might have hidden the "acid" and "psych" parts, the JIM COLLINS record is full of distorted and wah-wah electric guitar leads throughout both sides.
