Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. USA - TOWER RECORDS - 5123
TOP COPY From 50 YEARS AGO!!!
Original 1968 first pressing of a collector favorite in the world of swinging California sunny pop-psych ...filled with infectious memorable melodies... on the famously collected TOWER RECORDS label ...
Lush, gorgeous sunshine/psych poprock garage with wonderful male/female harmonies and beautiful melodies. Songs are very well written and performed. Excellent pop-rockers all throughout..it's really a shame they never got more popular than they did because some of these songs are unbelievably great. "Mrs. Bluebird" could have been a top ten hit if things were right in the world. ETERNITY'S CHILDREN were a band that was far more than just another faceless studio assemblage; a group that dated back to Mississippi ca. 1965 and specialized in raw, garage-styled rock 'n' blues before moving to Los Angeles and getting into the top level of sunshine poprock perfection . Produced by the legendary Curt Boettcher (see Sagittarius LP's) ... Eternity's Children were a far cry from such faceless Curt Boettcher studio amalgamations as the Bootiques or the Candy Company, names they were sometimes lumped in with. No, this was a real group. Apparently there were turbulent circumstances surrounding the group at the time of this 1967 recording, and combined with producer Boettcher's penchant for using his own group of session vocalists and musicians on any given recording he was put in charge of, it's simply impossible to say who played what on Eternity's Children. What can be ascertained however is both the beauty of the album as well as its consistency. At its best, on such songs as "Again Again", "Your World", "Little Boy" and the lead single "Mrs. Bluebird" with killer fuzz guitar slapped within, the group achieve an almost uncanny level of brilliance on a sound that equals anything Curt Boettcher was ever involved with. Elsewhere, highlights "My Happiness Day", sunshiney poprock grooves that are mighty catchy, as is "Lifetime Day" and the infectious rocking closer "Sunshine Among Us". As well, "Rupert White", as has long been known, utilized the same basic backing track as the Gary Paxton produced Chocolate Tunnel's version of the same song. Similarly, "You Know I've Found a Way" is an under-dubbed version of a track found on Boettcher's concurrent album with Gary Usher-- Sagittarius' Present Tense. The clear highlight of Eternity's Children is "Mrs. Bluebird"-- a sublime achievement for both the group and their producers, combining the very best of many disparate elements found within the musical ether of 1968: smooth, full harmonies; perfectly performed backing arrangements; a melancholy chord progression; bird calls and even a fuzz guitar solo that starts off fooling the listener by perfectly emulating a wind instrument. It was state of the art record making for its time, and the band hit the circuit hard to promote it, including a performance in front of Dick Clark on American Bandstand. (The video of this appearance has yet to surface, but is a legitimate holy grail.) Sadly, "Mrs. Bluebird" was not able to chart higher than #69 in July, and its follow-up "Sunshine Among Us" performed even worse, hitting a paltry #117 that September..clearly the album went under the radar of listeners and remains a lost gem from 1968.
