SCARCE limited vinyl pressing, only released in Holland, overviewing the now rare string of 45 chart hits by the Golden Earrings, their career as long as the Rolling Stones...
Long before Golden Earring were an international act, they were a top rated Continental beat group, billing themselves initially as "The Golden Earrings."
In their native Holland homeland they were the number one band, knocking off an incredible string of chart hit 45's ...The 45's some 45 years later are highly sought and collectible. Their 1965 first hit was a catchy rocker aptly named "Please Go" a very enjoyable effort that was highly derivative of rockin' British beat circa 1964-1965, especially in the vein of the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Zombies, infact it would have not been out of lace on the Beatles secnd album.
Released in 1968, the 'greatest hits' album showcases those now highly rare chart hit 45's from 1965 thru 1968 -- Golden Earring(s) at the dawn of a great career. All the songs here are honest and highlights include; "I've Just Lost Somebody" with its haunting melody, a small masterpiece. "That Day", plus the psychedelic laced "Daddy Buy Me a Girl" & "Sound Of A Screaming Day" are nice tracks too.
