Original limited edition with spiffy gold label and thick old-tyme sixties pressing ... On the outset this issue was sold by it's makers for $100, and they got it from eager collectors when the 1966-67 material was completely unreleased and forked over by the Hose guitar guru David Blossom. Here's a perfectly mint issue of thee above with low opening bid...
FIFTY FOOT HOSE are seen as a pinnacle for the true acid sixties sound. Fillmore-style guitar jams mix with garage electronics and strong songwriting to create a truly unique and essential experience. The epic "Fantasies" is as good an approximation of an LSD trip as you'll ever find. Something of a mystery group as they didn't play live much, even in their native San Francisco.
The seven songs on the limited edition "Ingrediants" were recorded prior to the "Caldron" album in 1966 & 1967, and are much more rawer in form and execution than the Caldron material which by these standards was 'toned down' ... the tracks within are more in demo album form, containing no-holds barred moves, i.e. the groups delivers harder aggressions, (fuzz guitar) wilder. "Good Morning Girl" and "Low Down Mostly" are blues-rock-influenced San Francisco 1967 psychedelic vein than most Fifty Foot Hose material, while the 13:16 "War" is a freak-out electronic free-for-all. Don't think you're done collecting Fifty Foot Hose if you just have the "Caldron" LP...
