Description
Luis Russell's Heebie Jeebie Stompers--Okeh 8424 (Truetone)
Plantation Joys
Please Don't Turn Me Down
In 78 Quarterly #10, this was record was included on the list of "rarest 78s" and it was estimated that less than 20 copies exist.
Recorded 1926-- piano with Barney Bigard, Preston Jackson etc.
Visually, the record is V-. This copy was listed in 78Q as E-. I'd say that was a very a optimistic view of the condition of the record but it does play very well. I played the record and it played much better than it looked at V+V. The music played strong with little or no distortion.
I will be auctioning over the coming months, in conjunction with Ebay seller stereojacks, a massive pre-war jazz and blues 78 rpm collection. We plan to both run lists every week, so check back and take a look at stereojacks as well.
78s are graded in accordance with the VJM grading system.
I attempt to grade records conservatively and accurately and provide the information bidders need. Satisfaction is guaranteed without hassle. I will ship the record promptly, properly packed upon receipt of payment. Payment expected within 7 days.
