ONE OWNER - THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained.
*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG to a VG+, looks and plays great.
Record Grade VG = Very well maintained. Just listened to both sides of the whole album and it plays beautiful. It is from our personal collection. Little to no surface noise at all. A few visible surface scratches that have little effect on the music other than an occasional pop that is not disruptive at all. Difficult to find this rare vintage stereo recording in such nice condition. (see pictures)
Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. We kept it on shelf in plastic cover. No writing. Glossy. No tape. Minor corner dents from normal shelf use and age. Very nicely kept. A very clean jacket for a 53 year old album. (see pictures)
The pictures were taken of the exact vinyl record and album cover you will receive, moments before this listing was written. Please make sure to review the images and ask any questions prior to bidding.

"The Real Ambassadors" is a jazz musical developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s by Dave and Iola Brubeck, in collaboration with Louis Armstrong and his band. It addressed the US Civil Rights Movement, the music business, America’s place in the world during the Cold War, the nature of God, and a number of other themes. It was set in a fictional African nation called Talgalla, and its central character was based on Armstrong.
The musical’s soundtrack album was recorded in September and December 1961 in the Columbia Records recording studio on 30th Street in New York City, and was released the following year. It was produced by Teo Macero. Performers included Dave Brubeck and his band (including bassist Gene Wright and drummer Joe Morello, but not including saxophonist Paul Desmond); Louis Armstrong and his band (including trombonist Trummy Young and pianist Billy Kyle); vocalese group Lambert, Hendricks & Ross; and vocalist Carmen McRae.
