Description

James Edwards was my father in law.  He died in 1992, leaving behind a record collection of hundreds of gospel, classical, swing, country, popular and big band albums, which he had collected and preserved for years.  He carefully kept the records in their original record sleeves and album covers.  Jim was a Christian DJ in the 60's and 70's at WBEX in Chillicothe Ohio winning awards from many gospel and Christian Music organizations.  He was a past president of the Gospel Music Club, active in the Southern Baptist Church and personal friends of the Stamps, the Kingsmen and other great artists.  His widow, Ruth,  my mother in law has decided to part with her husband's wonderful collections and has given me the privilege of presenting them to interested collectors through the EBay network.  I plan on doing so, but would hope only lovers of the music like my father in law, acquire these items and treat them as wonderfully as he did.

This is a quality album and the vinyl in mint condition.

I know that since I have restocked my collection, a lot of you would like to see your favorite groups listed as soon as possbile, and I am trying to keep up.  However I work at the post office and you know how December is there, but the rush is over and I can get back to you in earnest.  All the vinyl looks brand new, even if the covers are slightly worn.  Stay with me and add me to your favorite sellers and sooner or later your album will appear.  By the way, I have had to change my starting price by $.20, not by choice, but as of January 18th, there is a slight increase in postage on small parcels, sorry.

Most gospel music fans are familiar with the wonderful deep tones of London Parris.  He entertained us for year with various groups, most famously with the Blackwood Brothers.  This album is not designed to display the low singing register of London Parris' voice, but rather to exploit his skill as one of America's leading gospel soloists.  You will two sound ideas of gospel music here; a country beat and a sacred sweet.  Whichever your preference, you will enjoy the beautiful songs sung in the perfect tones of London Parris.

Side One:  Life's Railway;  I Came Here To Stay;  The Way Is The Way Of The Cross;  Just A Closer Walk;  and Now I Have Everything.

Side Two:  What A Friend We Have In Jesus;  Rock Of Ages;  Old Rugged Cross;  Abide With Me;  and  In The Garden.

There's a wonderful feeling about listening to gospel music and this album epitomizes that feeling as much as any.  You will listen to and enjoy this music as the songs are FOR KEEPS.
