On offer here is the VERY rare LP by The London Jazz Four called 'Take A New Look At The Beatles'. It features 11 incredible jazz versions of a wide range of Lennon/McCartney compositions from 'Rain' to 'Yellow Submarine'! It is seriously HARD TO FIND an ORIGINAL first press of this classic LP in such amazing condition as this one is! This is the original 1967 heavyweight vinyl UK 1st pressing on the Polydor label (with 'A1 & B1' matrixes) and 1st press Ernest J. Day sleeve with 'patent pending'.
Condition
The record grades visually as near mint condition and has no scratches, no warping and no flaws whatsoever apart from one small surface mark on the last track of side two. This does not affect play. The record plays as well as it looks, with no sticking, no pops and no hiss. The music remains loud and crystal clear throughout. The sound quality is SUPERB with no distortion and no groovewear either. It has clearly barely been played and looked after extremely well as well as benefiting from having a poly lined inner sleeve, also original.
The record labels are also in excellent condition (see photos) with no writing, no wear and no spindle marks. Like I said it's barely been played.
The sleeve is in excellent ++ condition. The edges all remain nice and straight. There is no shelf wear to any of the edges. The opening edge is just as good with no feathering. The laminated front looks fantastic, there is no ring wear and no major defects. The unlaminated back is surprisingly white with only very light wear. Someone wrote '202' in biro on the top left, and 'mono' on the top right. (see photos) The mono is there because the sleeve has Stereo printed on it but the vinyl is definitely mono (a common practice at some record labels in the 60's as demand outstripped supply during to the mono/stereo crossover)
