Description
This is a very rare private Christian acoustic LP released in 1973 on the Treehouse label. The LP is by the group Listen.
This LP was sealed. I opened it recently. ( album was sealed for 33 years !! ) LP plays very good ( a little static ). Cover looks great ( still in shrink-wrap). One corner very slightly crumpled.
To quote from the Archivist book, Vintage Vinyl Jesus Music by Ken Scott: "... excellent homemade acoustic rock endeaver with relaxed guitars-only wholesome in-tune-with-nature earthy sound. The songs are moving, sorrowful, deeply meditative... Nice dreamy atmosphere from the plaintive harmonies and interplay of the three guitars."
Does anyone know of other bands that played similar to this band "Listen" ??
Some great word imagery in the song lyrics. I especially liked the songs "The Unknown Sea" and "Clouds and Suns" ( it gave me tears ! )
Can you help ? I'm looking for information on underground Christian progressive-rock bands, espcially from 1975 to 1985. If you were a musician in a "Christian" prog-rock band, or if you recall any such band, drop me an email at tinmancafe@aol.com
I like progressive, blues-rock, Celtic and some psychedelic music. Similar to the styles of Arkangel ( with Kemper Crabb ), Jimmy Hotz (classic "Beyond The Crystal Sea" LP), Oden Fong ( classic "Come For The Children" LP ), Eden ( a 70's Christian progressive rock band from Germany ), Semaja ( a 70's Christian progressive rock band from Germany who released a classic LP "Hear My Cry" ), the Exkursions ( with Mike Johnson ), Jeff Johnson, Iona, The Knights of the Lord's Table, Water Into Wine Band ( legendary Christian band from UK ), Proto-Kaw ( with Kerry Livgren ! ) and of course Phil Keaggy with Glass Harp !

NOTE : Today, January 29th, would have been my older brother's birthday. He died in 2001 at the age of 51. Life is short. If you've never heard the song "Time" by Phil Keaggy, give it a listen sometime.
