The MacNeill Press Ltd matt Sleeve is in EX Condition, the plain company inner is in EX Condition and the Vinyl is in EX+ Condition. Description
Original UK Polydor red label stereo press.
Link Wray had retired to his brothers farm in Maryland during 1970, where he set up his own three track recording studio and recorded the album 'Link Wray' in 1971. By 1972 he was living in San Francisco and met up with Jim Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service. He encouraged Wray to form a new band and played with him and other members of his band Copperhead. The album was recorded in several sessions during late 1972 at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco. He jammed and played with Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, David Bromberg and the Commander Cody band. Link Wray went on to perform with various session musicians and band members in the bay area for the rest of the 1970's, before moving to Denmark in the 1980's.
This is the original issue with the red polydor labels and the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices & 1-1-3/1-2-1 mother stampers of the first 1973 pressings!
Overall, the record still retains all its original sheen and looks great. The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief, low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen. The matrix nos. are; 2391063, A//1 mother stamper 1-1-3, B//1 mother stamper 1-2-1.
This is one of the very early pressings of the original 1973 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!! UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
Royal Mail post to Europe (All EU countries & non EU countries, including Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, etc.), the Rest of the World (Zone 1, including Canada, Japan, Brazil, Korea, China, South Africa, etc.) and the Rest of the World Zones 2 & 3 (the USA, Australia & New Zealand etc).
All Airmail is limited to 5 or 6 lp's due to 2kg weight restrictions.
