I am parting with some of my treasured LPs.  Here's a first US pressing of the great LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS LP from 1962, NOTHIN' BUT THE BLUES.  NOTHIN' BUT THE BLUES is a first pressing under this moniker, however, the entire LP was a 1962 re-issue of Lightnin's amazing LP from 1960 LIGHTNIN' AND THE BLUES, which is a very rare LP.  That one was on Herald Records, and they didn't appreciate the huge interest in Blues music that would come right after that LP was released.  They hadn't printed many of those, and so 2 years later, this great music was put to vinyl under a different record company, Mount Vernon Records.  
A great early HOPKINS LP that is released in the middle of the resurgence in Blues music that started in 1959 when Muddy Waters played Newport Jazz Fest.  It was that show that opened up the floodgates for so many blues artists who never had the chance to record or play shows to wider audiences.  But for Lightnin', he was an established star of the blues, having been making records as early as the 40's.  But as the blues got more popularized, it was an opportunity for the old guard too.  This is an amazing LP, and one worth searching out for your collection.  It is a first pressing from 1962, the Yellow Label.  It's not a perfect LP, but it plays true to itself.  The cover has rubbing wear on the front and back, and there is clear tape securing the seams. The spine has a decent size split.  The LP shows NO spindle wear, and the vinyl has been very well played with some marks on it.  It's a somewhat hard LP to grade because while there are marks on the vinyl, and background sound, the music and his vocals do pop through in a way that is a very enjoyable experience.  And also- being a blues LP, there's an authentic-ness to these issues that are less bothersome than if they were on a Pink Floyd LP for instance.  IT's a rare LP, and priced accordingly due to condition.

I love original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place.
