Description
Prestige 7370, "My Life In the Blues" with Lightnin' Hopkins, guitar and vocal (lots of vocal!); Samuel A. Charters, interviews. This is a two-record set, a mixed LP of talk and music with Lightnin' providing the most detailed account of his life that anyone could possibly hope for. It happens to give insight into the man and his art. There are also tracks of music in between the talk which is as good as anything else Lightnin' ever recorded. See scan for track listing. Vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background noise on sides A, B, and C. Side D has a scuff that causes light background sound, sort of VG to VG+, on half of the tracks, but it's mostly talking, not playing. The heavy laminated gatefold sleeve is in VG++ condition with strong seams and no cracking at hinge; there is slight ringwear on the front; there are no corner wear, bends, or writing, and the jacket is very clean. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $10.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $22.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand (higher rates are due to the weight of two LPs in a gatefold cover). Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge. .
