Scarce experimental classical lp issued on the legendary Perspectives Musicales series which was EMI's audiophile answer to Philips' Prospective 21e Siecle. These excellent abstract chamber orchestra works are performed by Orchestre National De Chambre De Toulouse conducted by Louis Auriacombe. With a beautiful psychedelic op-art cover that was the trademark of this series (recently aped by Sonic Youth for covers of their own label's releases) which also released music by Jacques Lejeune, Christian Clozier, Luc Ferrari, and Iannis Xenakis.

Ligeti was a Hungarian composer who studied under Ferenc Farkas and Sandor Veress and explored methods of micropolyphony/tone-clustering as well as early electronic music; he was influenced by Zoltan Kodaly and Bela Bartok, and was peers with John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Henri Pousseur, Pierre Boulez, Olivier Messiaen, Mauricio Kagel, and Iannis Xenakis at the famous Darmstadt courses. Boucourechliev worked with Alfred Cortot, Luciano Berio, and Bruno Maderna, and at the INA-GRM musique concrete studios with Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry, Luc Ferrari, and Francois-Bernard Mache. Guezec was a pupil of Olivier Messiaen, Darius Milhaud and Jean Rivier. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings.
