Description
Lee Morgan - "The Sidewinder"
original 1964 Blue Note LP
This is a rare *original* stereo issue of Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder". It was released in 1964 by Blue Note Records. The back cover indicates Blue Note's address as "43 West 61st St., New York 23". (The address later changed in 1965). The matrix etchings in the runout groove are: "Stereo", "BNST-84157-A", "VAN GELDER", and the ear symbol. Side B is identical, except the "A" is a "B".
The record does have a little wear/aging to it, but we don't see any major scratches. Both sides were play tested, and this sounds fantastic -- certainly no skips or pops. maybe a bit of surface noise once in a while... but it was never at a distracting level. The cover is also nice, overall. We see three very short scrapes along the edges, a little writing on the back and some (aging?) spots, also on the back. Overall, though, this is a very nice album.
The vinyl is in VG+ condition, and the cover is in VG+ condition.
