Original promotional DJ radio station Atlantic Records Sampler-PR-175 45 RPM 7” EP of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” single released on Led Zeppelin’s fourth untitled studio album, also known as “Led Zeppelin 4” on November 8th, 1971. Incredibly rare and the only one promotional issue of this single. Even though in the early 1970s, the song was the most requested one at the FM radio stations, the manager of Led Zeppelin Peter Grant declined all of the requests of Atlantic Records to release “Stairway to Heaven” as a commercial single. The picture sleeve of this promotional copy is almost in impeccable condition. The top left corner of the front cover contains the “Atlantic Sampler-PR-175 EP 45 RPM Not For Sale” credit. The back side of the picture sleeve is identical to the front cover of the album and is converted to monochrome. The vinyl pressed at the Special Records Corporation contains the white promotional Atlantic Records “Not For Sale” labels with the “1841 Broadway, N.Y., N.Y.” address at the bottom rim. The sound format is indicated as Mono for Side 1 and Stereo for Side 2. The full matrix numbers including the “SP” abbreviation, the identifier of the pressing plant, are as follows:  Side 1 - MONO - PR-22401-1 1-1 SP AT; Side 2 - STEREO - ST-PR-22401-1 1-1 SP AT.

The promotional picture sleeve is super clean and is graded as Near Mint. Only having a very light disc impression at 2 o’clock on the front, this picture sleeve is in stunning condition and doesn’t have any ring wear, shelf wear, scuffs, splits, writing, soiling or residue. We grade the promotional vinyl as Excellent and it would be Near Mint Minus if it weren’t due to several light and tiny non-feelable surface hairlines in the trail-off area as well as a couple of very light scuffs from the original picture sleeve. The snow-white labels are in marvelous condition and are graded as Mint Minus. They don’t have any scuffs, wear or spindle marks retaining its magnificent factory gloss. The vinyl plays amazing presenting the “Stairway to Heaven” single in both formats.
