Description
Fantastic 1971 1st press with a great cover, Misty Mountain “Top” misprint on the red/plum Atlantic label with lovely glossy vinyl.
One that’s difficult to part with as they’re difficult to find in this original condition having had a reasonably easy life.
Cover / Spine /Inners
The cover is in great shape. It obviously been handled and there’s limited creasing near the spine, but there are no tears, residues, biro, etc. The one downside is a little fading to both the front and back cover by the spine.
The inner gatefold again looks great and can be forgiven a little wear and tiny creases given its age.
The inner sleeve is again in good shape given the fragile nature of these original thin paper/card sleeves. There is a grease mark on the lyric side and general finger marks from (50 years of) handling. There are 4 pieces of clear tape along the bottom seam, and one other seam is just showing through. These inner sleeves are often in tatters, but this one can be maintained now the vinyl has been removed and placed in a new plain sleeve.
Vinyl
The vinyl has been cleaned and, first glance, looks immaculate. On closer inspection there is a mark to side one but this doesn’t affect playback. Otherwise this is a thing of beauty.
Label / Spindlemarks
The Atlantic red/plum labels look fantastic. There is foxing which could be cleaned by anew owner but I’ve left it to show originality.
A few spindle marks are visible when held to the light. It has been played but has lead a charmed life.

Postage at cost
The price for postage is essentially at cost - ie: it includes tracked delivery, a new cardboard mailer, new acid-free paper sleeve(s) and a mark-up equivalent to the fees applied to postage.
The record will be carefully packaged and sent in a new LP mailer to the UK MAINLAND ONLY. I’ll happily pass on all postage savings net of fees for multiple purchases.
Other Beatles, Led Zep, Cream, Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac,The Hollies, etc, records in good condition to follow - watch for my other items.

General Statement (exceptions will be clearly noted).
This record is from the collection of a great music fan. Many items were bought new and have been played and enjoyed over 40 or 50 years or so, though carefully selected second-hand items with less provenance have been added over the years.
The collector is fastidious and the sleeves have been kept in pvc covers. The vinyl has been cleaned each time it was played and the quality styluses regularly changed.
He principally curated a collection of 60s / 70s / 80s LPs and 45s across the genres of rock, psychedelia and folk, but his love of music has taken them into other areas - please see my other items for sale.
I have spent time researching the items that I am selling and have done my very best to identify the correct version, but please do message me if you feel there is an error in the listing.
Items are photographed carefully before listing to uniquely identify the vinyl with the sleeve.
The record has been test-played and in our opinion it is more than acceptable for enjoyable listening. There may be the odd pop or scratch in quieter tracks or between tracks.
I have not allowed returns as the item is described and photographed in detail. These are second-hand items and will come with some age-related faults, as do all items other than NM/NM. If there are any problems whatsoever please message me to find a mutually-beneficial solution to maintain 100% positive feedback on both sides.
