Description

*I am currently selling a collection of Heavy Metal and rock LPs, predominantly from the late 70’s to the early 90’s but with the odd outlier thrown in. All well looked after and some real rarities. I combine shipping and always remove the vinyl from the sleeve before packing and posting. Where anything other than a generic white inner is present, the vinyl is always placed in a brand new white inner to preserve the original. Brand new ‘clear glass’ plastic sleeves are added to all LPs. I describe items accurately as I know how disappointing it is to receive a much anticipated record where flaws have been glossed over or gone unmentioned. I try to listen to each record before describing it but if I don’t have time I will listen to selected parts to gauge the level of background noise and I will always listen to any passages where there are surface marks to judge the impact these have. I always give positive feedback after payment so the customer is able to give feedback purely judged on the service once they have received the item. If you are unhappy in any way I will refund with no questions asked. Thank you for your interest in this listing and please check out my other records.*

This listing:

Led Zeppelin

Untitled

4th album from this band, first released in 1971.

This copy is a boxed collectors edition. One of just 3500 copies produced for HMV store in the UK. Although there isn’t a huge amount of information online about this release, it appears that it was released alongside a CD version in 1988.

There are a couple of examples listed by overseas eBay members but this seems to come up very rarely.

The box contains the LP in gatefold sleeve and original inner (version K50008), an eleven page glossy booklet with information about the band and this particular milestone release, and a certificate from the then Managing Director of HMV which you can read on the photos for more information behind the release.

The box is in VG+ condition. There is a bump on one corner and some areas of discolouration. The vinyl and both inner and outer sleeves are in Excellent condition. There is a split at they base of the inner sleeve (as is commonly found with this album due to the fragile paper used - caused by the sharp edge of the record) and a small area of wear on the outer sleeve in a similar area where the record has attempted to push through the outer sleeve too. The record is now housed in a generic white inner and kept separated from the outer sleeve to prevent further wear. If not for this small, unobtrusive area of wear, the vibrant, glossy sleeve would be in Near Mint condition.

The record plays with excellent audio - a really punchy playback. There is some minimal background static in quieter parts here and there, but the lack of any spindle marks on the vibrant green and orange Atlantic labels suggest this has had very limited play indeed.

The certificate is undamaged and the booklet is rated as Excellent due to the staples holding it together being rusted. Aside from this it is Mint and makes for very interesting reading.

Overall a great copy of an elusive Limited release of this classic album with a pleasingly low number, being copy 270 out of the 3500 limitation. Please ask for further photos or details if required.
