Description
This is one of the earliest possible reissues from 1972 on the Green/Orange UK Atlantic label. Matrix A2/B. Etchings "Allen/Porky". Heavy set vinyl. Please note the deadwax area on one side holds the new catalogue number K50008 and the old red and plum catalogue number 2401012. This indicates that the copy dates from the time of the catalogue number change when Atlantic switched from red & plum labels to orange and green. After correcting the 'Misty Mountain Top" error on the red and plum labels they have managed to make the same error again on these copies too! The record comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original grey textured inner sleeve. 100% original and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A fantastically well preserved record from 1972 which has clearly only seen minimal use. Under close inspection I cannot make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros an inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with very little interference. There's a couple of light crackles in Stairway and California, but even that is being picky. These early seventies copies were as good at audio reproduction as the original red & plum copies.
Cover (Ex) Again, has clearly been carefully looked after. Front and back are in great condition - please note there is a small scuff to the opening edge on the front [down in the bottom-right]. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover maintains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Looks in great condition and no splits.
