Description
🎸 LED ZEPPELIN – “Untitled” (Led Zeppelin IV)
1971 UK Atlantic Red & Plum Label – Version 6 Misprint (Inverted Feather & “Misty Mountain Top”)
Catalogue No.: Deluxe 2401012 • Matrices A//3 / B//4
💿 Authentic 1971 UK Red & Plum Atlantic Pressing
A rare double-misprint transitional issue featuring both the inverted John Paul Jones feather symbol and the “Misty Mountain Top” track-title error.
Pressed by Polydor Records Ltd. for Atlantic in late 1971, this short-run label was corrected almost immediately, making surviving examples highly desirable among serious Zeppelin collectors.

🎧 Condition
Vinyl: VG – Glossy surface with some light marks. Mild surface noise across several tracks; ~10 minor pops at start of Stairway to Heaven then clears. Excellent clarity and punch once playing.
Labels: Clean overall, with small name (“Vicki Holmes”) written neatly on Side 1.
Sleeve: Original 1971 textured E.J. Day gatefold (“Hermit” art) – light edge rubbing, laminate wear – VG to VG+.
Inner Sleeve: Original brown lyric inner (taped edges) – VG.
I've sensibly priced this copy based on the condition - overall a decent copy of version 6 which is getting harder to find now.
🧠 Collector Notes
This Version 6 label variant combines both the feather inversion misprint and the “Top” title error, occurring only on the earliest Kinney/Superhype crossover run.
It represents a genuine short-lived transitional production mistake, pre-dating the corrected Versions 7 and 8 (upright feather, fixed title).
Such double-error copies have developed cult status among Zeppelin vinyl specialists – a standout talking-point pressing.
