MATRIX NOs.
side 1: SSK 59410 A5
side 2: SSK 59410 B4, corrected to B5. On all of these first pressings, the 4 of the B4 has been crossed out, and a number 5 has been scratched next to it on the vinyl run out.
THIS CAN ONLY BE FOUND ON FIRST EVER UK PRESSINGS.
The matrices are hand etched, with the pressing code ‘STRAWBERRY’ being machine imprinted the vinyl in the run off on both sides, along with the numbers 5 & 6.
The brown bags made out of wrapping paper style paper, are usually torn, damaged, heavily stained, with seam splits and sticker marks. The white inners with black image were designed to ‘colour wash’, and usually were coloured in by enthusiastic fans. This has small biro mark and slight tear.
Each album cover came with a slightly different design, all showing a scene in the same bar, but from different angles and with different characters occupying the situation. Because the outer sleeves came in brown bags it was impossible to know which variant of sleeve you were getting, and the numbers of sleeves produced became less and less as the letter types increased. ‘A’ sleeves are most commonly available, where as the E and F variety rarely come on the market. This is the "E" variant.
NEAR MINT It looks like I have only ever played this vinyl a couple of times.
A stunning glossy vinyl. On first inspection it looks unmarked, and little played. There are a couple of the faintest handing marks, and I would say that the vinyl has only been played a hand full of times. Really wonderful example.
Easily grades at EXCELLENT PLUS to Nr MINT - Throughout!!!
THE COVER – EXCELLENT
The Spine shows minimal wear only, with the spine text being totally intact, with only light creases. This is one of the squarest and cleanest I have ever seen!
BROWN OUTER BAG -
EXCELLENT to , lovely crisp paper. No tears, no stains, light creasing. All opening edge serration's are complete and un torn, although do show the most minimal wear. A truly great example. Part unstuck
THE LABELS - Nr MINT
Stunning Nr MINT condition.
THE INNER - Nr MINT
The inner sleeve of IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR has a black outline print on an almost pure white thick base paper. It is water reactive and highly absorbent of moisture. Perspiration from your fingers during handling, or exposure in a moist atmosphere, can set it off the coloured 'magic' design hidden underneath. These sensitive inners are nearly always marked to some extent, or completely coloured in as eager owners want to see the transformation taking place. It is near impossible to find any copy with an unmarked inner. This stunning example is like new, virtually unmarked with undamaged corners and uncoloured prints. An amazing piece.
Colour Wash Magic Inner Sleeve: No seam splits, no separations, no splits, no tears, no damage. Unbelievable!
A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VALUABLE PIECE OF MUSICAL HISTORY.
