Description
Rare, original British pressing of Led Zeppelin’s seminal third studio album, III, released via Atlantic Records in 1970.
Recognised of course as one of the Zep’s very best, and by its iconic volvelle cover, this particular pressing is particularly remarkable for having the rare traits of Orange / Plum labels and that Peter Grant credit. Matrix codes read: ‘Do what thou wilt’ 2401002 A-5 and ‘So mote it be’ 2401002 B-5. (All of which can be corroborated here.)
Making it all the more remarkable, however, is the fact that the vinyl record is, and is genuinely, in quite incredible condition – a few hairline scratches here and there aside, mainly towards the start of the A-side, it remains in superb nick. (I can’t even begin to tell you the admiration I felt for my parents upon discovering this fact, given that they’ve had this release for considerably longer than they’ve had me!)
The time has, nonetheless, come for it to drift on to somewhere, and someone, new.
