Description
Led Zeppelin III Atlantic ?– 2401-002/SD 7021 Celebration misspelt credit label UK 1970 Red/Plum A5/B7
Unusual UK red/plum early edition of Led Zep with German spinwheel sleeve (official release, not a bitsa – similar copies have been sold on EIL).
Vinyl is VG – minor background noise between tracks and on run-ins/quieter passages etc but playtested very well with great sound. There are a few light marks on the vinyl but nothing obvious.
Sleeve is VG –mainly because the wheel is no longer located on the pin. It still rotates manually. There’s some light age-related wear, but otherwise it is in really nice condition.
This is a UK release with the second generation red and plum label design, stating ‘Made in Great Britain’ with hyphen in the catalogue number "2401-002" at 2 O'clock and with misspelt label on side one, track A3 reading: 'Celebration', instead of 'Celebration Day'.
The credit at the bottom of both labels states "Warner Bros. Music" above 'Produced by Jimmy Page' in bold, both centred.
Peter Grant has been removed from the label credits as executive producer, 'Do What Thou Wilt' and 'So Mote It Be' hand-scratched into the dead wax/matrix area.
This was released in a German printed sleeve (possibly UK stocks of the sleeve ran short as the album sold strongly early on?). This has the laminated gatefold rotating-wheel gatefold sleeve (Atlantic Deluxe), with SD 7201 catalogue number on the front and "Made in Germany" on the back cover. Peter Grant appears as Executive Producer on the inner gatefold spread.
The sleeve otherwise copies the US artwork closely, with credits as follows:

I’m thinning out my personal record collection and will be offering a wide range of 12” LPs and 7” singles and EPs over the coming weeks.
All have been test played and cleaned using a record cleaning machine. I use the established Record Collector grading system and grade as accurately as possible (a little tough if anything!). Refer to the description for specific details.
All records will be well packed using proper vinyl mailers and stiffeners.
