Led Zeppelin III 1970 A5/B5 So Mote It..Misprint Red Plum Vinyl LP VG/EX.
First issue Led Zeppelin III from the year of release (1970) on red/plum Atlantic labels. No mention of Peter Grant on labels.
Matrix numbers:
Side one: Do what thou wilt 2401002 A5 GHC
Side two: so mote it be 2401002 B5 GHC
Misprint gatefold sleeve variant (has wrong catalogue number and made in Germany on rear). “Celebration” error on labels.
The vinyl visually and sonically grades VG to VG+ overall with fine hairlines and some light scratches. It plays with some crackle evident in the quieter sections and a few soft clicks here and there. Certainly nothing major or distracting, and definitely doesn’t overpower the music. Most of the record sounds nice and clear.
The gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition and has a working rotating wheel. No writing, rips or major wear. (See photos).
Overall this is still a decent and highly collectible original UK pressing on the red and plum Atlantic labels. Whilst not perfect it’s still a very enjoyable listening copy.
Doesn’t come with the original inner but I have included a brand new poly lined inner.
