There’re several reasons allowing to state that this factory sealed copy of Led Zeppelin’s second album is a very early 1st US pressing. The first thing you pay attention to is the cardboard quality of gatefold cover. The cover is made of a raw matte cardboard and has a light brown hue, NOT the dark and glossy cardboard that can be found on the later pressings. Secondly, the album contains the four-digit SD 8236 catalog number on the front, right above the Atlantic Records large "A" with a black fan logo, and spine, which most likely can also be found on the 1st print Atlantic Records labels with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address. The next characteristic that allows to state that this copy is a very early 1st pressing is the absence of the “Gold Record Award” sticker whose presence on the cover identifies the later pressing. This beautiful factory sealed copy with a fully intact shrink wrap containing the original breathe holes comes with a full set of hype stickers which guarantee that this copy was pressed no later than late 1969 - early 1970. The front cover contains a promotional “Includes the Hit Single WHOLE LOTTA LOVE SD 8236” round hype sticker underneath the shrink wrap. The second sticker is located on the back cover being affixed to the shrink wrap. Original “THIS ALBUM CONTAINS…” song title hype sticker also contains the four-digit SD 8236 catalog number whose presence on both stickers represents an additional proof of this copy being a very early 1st pressing. This copy is NOT a repressing with the five-digit SD 19127 catalog number and NOT the club issue of this album with the "Manufactured for RCA music service under license R 103692" text on the back cover.
