Description
LED ZEPPELIN - 'LED ZEPPELIN II'
This rare variant of their 2nd second studio album is a UK 1st press from initial October 1969 release on the 'plum' Atlantic label: 588198
The side 1 label lists track 3 as 'The Lemon Song' and track 2 on side 2 as 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck (She's A Woman)'.
These 'errors' were changed to 'The Killing Floor' and 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's A Woman)' respectively on subsequent pressings.

Housed within a correct unlaminated light brown 'E.J. Day & Co..' printed gatefold cover with only the rear pocket opening.
'The Lemon Song' is listed on the tracklisting inside the gatefold.
Complete with its original & correct poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A superb unworn and untarnished pair with no spindle trails visible around either completely unworn centre hole.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shine. There are several light surface marks consistent with inner-sleeve removal together with a single non-feelable 6cm hairline scratch positioned laterally over part of track 1 on side 2. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals numerous wispy hairlines but no further significant or major blemishes. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This incredible sounding copy has been played with care on excellent equipment as the sound is clean, warm and clear throughout with an unbeatable rich and deep bass response. My careful play-check found no trace of any groove/playwear distortion on any track or in either channel or any background interference, clicks, pops or indeed any other audible distraction on or between any track. You will not be disappointed with the sound quality of this rare copy.
Cover: VERY GOOD +
A clean & firm example of this earliest-type cover which bears light storagewear but no major faults. The easily worn front panel is clean & free from any ringwear or missing paper. There is minor shelfwear rubbing to the corners but the opening edges are undamaged. The rear panel bears a slight disc impression & a small scratch from storage but no other noticeable wear.
The inside of the gatefold is pristine and completely unblemished.
The spine is faded and dirty but all of the text is present and readable.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with some gentle storage bends and disc impression, but no writing, seam splits or tears.
