Led Zeppelin II RL SS Ludwig HOT MIX Edition Vinyl LP 1st Press Play Test SD8236.
This is the Rare “hot mix” by Robert Ludwig that was pulled from distributors for being too loud and dynamic for many players at the time. Catalog # SD8236 etched RL S/S on both sides.
Record has been play tested on my personal setup. This is a difficult record to grade with a letter grade d/t the sound mastering and how it affects your own setup. I will describe how it plays back for me. There are faint hairlines visible with no feelers. This makes for light crackle at times especially in the quiet parts, does not overpower any of the main tracks. There is some groove wear in the last part of “Bring it On” , but YES the sound is THAT heavy, loud, dynamic and incredibly mastered. Be aware you may have to adjust your system at times to handle this PRESSING. I always recommend with any new or used record that you thoroughly clean vinyl before playing.
