Led Zeppelin II Orig 1969 Vinyl LP RL Ludwig Hot Mix PR (Presswell) A Pressing!!. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.

I ended my original listing of this LP because I needed to add some info but couldn't do so because of the offers I'd sent. I just wanted to note that I found another skip near the end of Whole Lotta Love when I played it  on my back up turntable although iIt didn't skip at all on my pro-ject turntable. I also wanted to note that there is a scratch in The Lemon Song that has pops for about 45 seconds.  But it did not skip at all on either turntable.  I try hard to describe every flaw as I would want the same before i buy an LP. So that's it....and therefore I'm reducing the price considerably.  Still a very decent copy as side 2  has very few issues and plays amazingly well. With that said, here is the description of the original listing and still remains accurate other than what I've said above.

Here's another copy of the Robert Luwig (RL) hot mix. This one has RL on side 1 and RL SS on side 2 and is a Presswell (PR) with the very narrow dead wax on side 2. Both sides also have A (not catalog number or Atlantic) in the dead wax as opposed to several I've seen with C etc.

The record plays pretty well except for an issue at the very beginning of Whole Lotta Love. There is some groove damage or something which creates an audible noise for a few seconds (only). It also skipped once on my red Ortofon stylus but I just upgraded to the Blue Ortofon and there was no skip there and actually played through. BUT please be aware that it might depending on your stylus. This skip is at the very beginning of the song along with that groove wear issue but this only lasts a total of about 7-8 seconds. There are no skips on the rest of the LP. It plays excellent AT TIMES but it also plays VG-/G+ now and then with SOME pops and occasional surface noise in various places, some more than others. When it's loud and heavy this is not heard hardly at all but is apparent during the quieter parts. This LP is NOT a collector's grade copy (try finding one that is) but being a PR, there's a little less surface noise than the monarch or CTH copies. It's a pretty okay copy and totally listenable (sometimes totally amazing). I've heard all the RL copies except for the SP pressing and the monarch and presswell are my personal faves. Please look at the pics and see for yourself. I try to show the imperfections as much as possible AND I really try and grade conservatively. What I have described is exactly the way it plays on my turntable (Pro-Ject DC Esprit). I will also include a CD copy with a rip of this exact album as played on my Pro-Ject (no pre-amps, no EQ or compression added, etc). After I rip an LP that's in less than amazing shape I will use Izotope De-clicker to manually remove pops. If you would rather have the CD copy with pops removed, I can do that....but let me know. If you don't I will send the CD as is and completely unaltered.

The cover is VG-. Has a split at top right but not all the way. Has various imperfections such as name on front and back, BOB on one side of the record label etc etc. The spine is strong and readable. Also includes original inner sleeve in decent condition. PLEASE look at the pics and if you have any questions, please ask. I want you to be happy with your purchase so I would very much appreciate you looking over the item thoroughly and asking any questions you may have before you purchase so we can try and avoid any potentially unnecessary returns or issues that could be prevented. I try to grade conservatively. All the records I sell come with a plastic outer sleeve for protection and a new plain white inner sleeve as well as the original when available. FYI : This and all of the LPs I sell that are listed as being play graded are played on a PRO-JECT Debut Carbon Esprit SB turntable with Ortofon BLUE cartridge which isn't real high end but the turntable is in the $500 range and cartridge in $225 range and could reveal limitations perhaps not as noticeable in the average turntable (or in some cases more noticeable) so I think it's ideal for play grading LPs.

SOME OTHER VERY IMPORTANT STUFF TO READ :

I sell USED items. Most of the records or 8 tracks that I sell are bought second hand. Some I bought new. I personally have never stored them in damp, musty places. BUT I cannot guarantee that 40-60 year old records or 8 tracks have never been in these type of places and will smell like new car, fresh linens etc. If this is what you're looking for, I suggest buying brand new vinyl. I would never hide anything like this or any particular flaw on purpose.....but I do not have a sensitive nose and can't always detect what someone with a very strong nose may smell. Just an honest heads up.....

Record grading is unique and everyone does it a little different. I try my best to grade conservatively and by goldmine standards. If you check out my feedback for the records I have sold, you will see that I've never had an unhappy buyer, ever. My goal is for you to be happy. If you aren't happy I will do whatever I can to fix it.

I hate to cut right to the chase but recently I had a person return an item for the simple reason that they DID NOT LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF WHAT I WAS SELLING. NOT BECAUSE MY DESCRIPTION WAS NOT ACCURATE, BUT because they assumed they were buying something they imagined instead of what I described and was selling. This is the reason why multiple pictures are listed with an item for sale. This caught me completely off guard!!! I am barely making anything in the grand scheme of things off of a $6 LP or whatever and am no longer willing to pay return shipping (and paying extra money out of my pocket) simply because someone bought an item they "forgot to look at" and didn't want in the first place. ALL OF THIS could have been avoided by reading my listing and looking at the pictures right? This almost seems absurd. Anyway....

Record grading :

Mint (M):  Perfection, no flaws, defects, marks or otherwise indications of being handled or played. Any scuffs, hairline scratches or other marks disqualify discs from this category. I do not use this grade, as even the act of inserting the disc or removing it from the paper sleeve may cause scuff marks on the vinyl.

Near Mint (NM):  This is highest grade assigned to opened, handled records. The vinyl is near flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

Excellent (EX):  Disc plays really nice, but may have minor paper scuffs or other marks that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a few hairline scratches but nothing that affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny.

Very Good Plus (VG+):  Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or minor writing, etc.) but otherwise clean.

Very Good (VG):  Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.

Very Good Minus (VG-): Vinyl and cover will be a little worse than VG. I rarely sell records below this grade unless they are very desirable and can go to a good home of someone who may not be able to afford a really expensive pressing. Below this grade (G+, G will have many scratches, likely much surface noise, and possibly even skips. Some records also may look incredibly rough but still play really clean. PLEASE keep all of this in mind. I've bought 7-8 pressings of certain records just trying to find a clean one and most all of them LOOKED clean. But even if it looks clean doesn't mean it will sound clean. Happy hunting!!!
