Description
Us 1st pressing featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on BOTH sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that has become the common version we all know.
This album for collectors is a grail item. Almost impossible to find now in the wild because the word is already out. Let alone a copy with RL on both sides!
This album is truly one of a kind as it can never be pressed again.

Album has 3 quick jump skips during the first 20 seconds of SIDE ONE - "Whole Lotta Love" fairly common with a percentage of copies due to just how hot it is.
LP has quite a bit of surface noise and pops
as well as visible scuffs, marks and blemishes.
No deep embedded scratches.
No skips or jumps throughout LP except for the 3 mentioned already at beginning of side one.
(Of course, they may not jump on YOUR turntable)
Surface noise is pretty noticeable during quiet passages but when it gets loud it is not noticed at all.
It is highly likely that some of the surface noise could be removed with an ultrasonic cleaning. It has never had one.
Regardless, if you love vinyl and Led Zeppelin, and you've never heard this original version, you're in for a treat and will own one of the many rare and coveted collectibles in the vinyl community.
