See my auctions this week for several Bob Ludwig mastered LPs!! Here’s a very rare pressing of Led Zeppelin II. This is the very FIRST pressing of the album, which is known as the Bob Ludwig Loud Mix. The initials “RL” are in the trailoff on both sides. Copies of this album were recalled off store shelves when complaints from buyers rolled in. The music was recorded so loudly onto the disc that cheaper record players couldn’t track the grooves. But, when played on a mid to high end system, this record sounds absolutely awesome. I tried to get my camera to take an up-close picture of the RL, and it wasn’t too cooperative… but be assured it is there, plain as day. This is on the Atlantic label, number SD 8236, original pressing from 1969. The vinyl grades at least a VG+, possibly VG++, no scratches, just light abrasions from being taken in and out of the sleeve. The jacket is in similar shape, light corner wear, no seam splits, writing, tape, or other problems. It’s really a nice strong copy overall, leaps and bounds better than most copies I’ve seen. (Being such a classic album, many copies turn up played to death and absolutely destroyed!) INTERNATIONAL BIDS WELCOME, but REGISTERED mail will be required for your protection and mine.
