Track by Track Grading:

This is THE. RARE! Zepp 2 RL Pressing!!! This LP could overall be described at VG- or G+ (4 to 5). It has marks that cause sound issues that are detailed below, however, despite those issues the quality of the RL Press still shines through! Enormous, earthquake style low ends, crystal clear super broad expansive highs and warm gooey rich middles. In our humble opinion it is truly worthy of its status as the hands down best LP Pressing of all time - a sublime audio experience the way (non-live) music was meant to be enjoyed!

1. Whole Lotta Love - Plenty of surface crackle right off the bat? however once the big sound comes in its not that noticeable or bothersome. Pressing wise the low end is beyond ENORMOUS, JP really shines on this one, and you've never heard the hurricane interlude as clear as it is on the RL press... sounds great on this copy.

2. What Is - Marks cause lots of crackle up to the low breakdown guitar solo, after that it sounds fantastic. Pressing wise the low end is HUGE, and the highs are so crystal clear. You have never heard Robert's floaty verse vocals sound this phenomenal!

3. Lemon Song - Crackle is quite noticeable on this one in the breakdowns etc. Pressing wise Bonham really steals the show on this one. His showy runs just explode out of the speakers, Page and Jones sound very upfront and richly funky, yet don't bowl you over, almost thoughtfully restrained, while Plant's vocals are a bit set back in a pseudo hallway effect allowing him to really soar. Overall it really sounds like you are in the room with the boys on this one. These are the cool details that can be only be fully heard, felt and enjoyed with the RL pressing. 

4. Thank You - One of the most underrated LZ songs ever recorded. And wow does it really shine on this pressing. Not too much crackle or noise on this track. Pressing wise this track is utterly gorgeous. Clear, open, expansive, bright acoustic guitar tones.... other worldly. Written all by Plant, Page does some background vocals, JP on the baroque-esque organ.... what a gem. The RL really does justice to this incredibly beautiful, less appreciated "power ballad."

5. Heartbreaker - Unfortunately this track has problems. It has 3 distinct points in which it jumps/skips. There is a one revolution skip right before the bridge, one jump at the start of the big guitar jam, and 2 one revolution skips in the last verse. All of these jumps/skips play through, none get struck or are repeating. Bummer because pressing wise its probably the biggest sounding song on the album probably even bigger than Whole Lotta Love. Its just skull crushingly huge - the guitar, the bass, the drums, the wailing vocals.... its a tidal wave typhoon wall of sound. Great thing about the RL though is how huge it is and yet the open, expansive clarity that remains even at earthquake volume level is just astonishing.  (turn up your speakers if you think your system can handle it, go ahead!) 

6. Livin' Lovin' Maid - Some noticeable crackle on this one as well. Pressing wise very clear, crisp, blended sound of the band with Bonham once again stealing the show.

7. Ramble On - Very little crackle on this one actually. Pressing wise its gloriously etherial, another of their other worldly concoctions. And once again its not just about other worldly lyrics. The RL allows you to enjoy Plant's weird amazing floaty 'hallway' vocals, JP's HUGE low end thumps and all the Middle Earth sonic weirdness Zepp intended you to.

8. Moby Dick - Crackle isnt terrible on this one. Page and JP sound huge per usual on this one before the epic Bonzo solo.

9. Bring It On Home - The way Willie Dixon's classic tune was ultimately meant to end up. Rooted in classic blues but big, loud, dirty, brash, BADASS. Not much crackle at all on this one. Pressing wise, shall I reiterate? BIG, LOUD, DIRTY, BRASH, in short it sounds freakin BAD. ASS.

There you have it folks. If not for Heartbreaker it would be graded higher overall.

10: MINT (M), Pristine, Looks as if it just came off the manufacturing line, also listed as New, Mint Sealed/Unopened

9: NEAR MINT (NM), Looks as if it just came from a store and was opened for the first time, maybe played a few times if ever, no evidence of play or wear whatsoever

8: EXCELLENT (EX), also listed as VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS (VG++), LP may have a faint surface mark or two barring it from being truly Near Mint, but sound quality will not be affected at all, cover sleeve is just short of Near Mint, often used for cover sleeves in Shrink, or with no ringwear or staining or easily visible flaws whatsoever, seams and spine fully intact

7: VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+), Shows slight signs of wear, light scuffs or scratches may be present but they do not affect playback other than faint surface noise heard sporadically in between tracks, or the occasional soft click from a surface mark here or there, cover sleeve is considered still \u201cframeable” yet when observed closely will show to have a flaw or small flaws, very minor ringwear if any, seams and spine intact but not pristine

6: VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD PLUS (VG/VG+), more obvious signs of wear and handling, LP has surface noise that is noticeable in some spots but perhaps is quiet and clean in other spots, clicks and pops will be heard, but will not significantly disrupt the music, cover sleeves have more obvious ringwear or marks/staining, seams may have cracking, minor seam splitting or some missing spine text but are still fairly well intact. Writing may be present on label.

5: VERY GOOD (VG), significant and obvious wear and handling including surface noise throughout, audible scratches which cause clicks and pops and crackle but no skips or repeated grooves, cover sleeve may have significant ringwear and/or staining, seam splits may be evident, label or sleeve may have writing, names, stickers etc.

4: VERY GOOD MINUS (VG-), in our shop typically only going to be seen on a cover sleeve for a significantly rare album that is in extremely bad shape, lots of splitting etc, yet is still worth owning due to its rarity. We will likely never offer albums with a Vinyl/LP grading of 4.
