Description

This is from my own collection, I am not a dealer, in the next few months I am selling off part of my collection many rarities and collectable, no filler! Thanks for looking!

This is a `vault stored` 1st press  from 1969 that is hard to find now    `Monster Rarity`
`Livin Loving Wreck` and  `Shes a Woman` errors on the label super rare in good order
`Lemon Song` credit on label

Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing and is priced for its rarety and attraction for collection purposes, the record and sleeve are original and 49 years old
it is an  original 1st press 1969 of this classic albulm
Cover can to be upgraded when you find that `final upgrade` the vinyl is nice heavy 60s weight.

Led zeppelin II recorded on their "mayhem tours" in USA in 1969, this is very much the sound of a band at work and finding their direction.
The classic tracks are here by the bucketful, Whole Lotta Love, Lemon Song, Heartbreaker all jump off the grooves with incredible clarity.
Page got what he wanted here soundwise and the mixing done at various locations dictated by tour schedule are a credit to the producer.
This recording really put Zeppelin on the map and Atlantic had to give the highest advance to make sure Peter Grants Boys didn't look elsewhere, one of the greatest acts in rock history were in business to stay for a long time to come.

Litigation copy !

Only the first presses came out with `Living Loving Wreck` and  "Lemon Song" On the label, the `Wreck` was rapidly corrected. and soon after Lemon Song hastily retitled on Peter Grants orders on later presses for fear of impending litagation from the estate of "blind lemon jefferson"
Grab yourself a piece of rock history!
also has the `Shes a Woman` error correct title is `Shes Just A Woman` super rare these errors ran for short time only on the first presses.
These are getting harder to find in anything like this condition, also Plant gets songwriting credits for the first time as he is considered "permanent" following US reaction to the 12 month old line up.

The Record
The First Available Matrix `A2 B2`
Vinyl is "Very Good Plus ``Condition

Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing and is sold for its rarety rather than for its condition

A strong VGC plus with some lines (see photos) and  scuffs and scrapes from sleeve removal over the years, bear in mind this is a 47 year old vinyl record! Nice fat pre oil crisis 60s vinyl wow ! truly a collectors dream...at this price! no nasy surprises its a quality used vinyl , nice fat 60s press decent weight.
Great highs and lows great audio.
At the start of side 2 there is some static which is audible before jimmy Page hits the first note in track 1 "Heartbreaker" after music starts all clear throughout. cant stress enough this is not a perfect mint ...this is a great play through with no skips and still great audio from this 1969 A2 B2 first press.

No skips or sticks or jumps , we playtested on our super fussy Kenwood light tracking deck as well as the Rega all clear and puchy sound.

No jumps or sticks on our Rega 3 a professional clean may assist (we don't do this as its an individual thing) there is some pops and  static in quieter places .

Plays good with bright crisp sound may benefit from a professional clean (we don't do this as it's an individual thing) some background static and pops is noticeable in the quieter passages , once music kicks in its a loud playing record...

The labels are "good condition" are clean bright and retain great bold colours.

See pictures in the listing you can see the vinyl disc is very shiny and has good lustre.

Plays clear with bright crisp sound may benefit from a professional clean (we don't do this as it's an individual thing) some background static is noticeable in the quieter passages.

Nice Thick fat 70s pre oil crisis vinyl very flat on the table.

The sleeve
Very Good Condition plus

The lighter Brown 1st version

Having done it's job over 47 years the sleeve has some ring wear and rounding corners but no rips or tears on the "EJ Day" London W1 sleeve with the "uptight and Outasight" Atlantic appreciation society (17-19 Stratford Place, London, W1)  message (not on later versions) (see photos) VGC plus

Colours are good and not a lot fading, the thick card holds up well, no writing , names or stickers, its got some soiling on white areas as is heavy on  spine but all in one peice after 49 years.

Having done it's job over 47 years the sleeve has some ring wear (see photos rear cover)  and general heavy removal and use wear.
there is the usual finger removal soiling to the white parts ofthis sleeve (see pictures in the listing) thich card  "light brown" bomber cover.

Kept in a PVC sleeve for many years vertical in storage. .
The corners are a only a little rounded. spine has some wear .... see photo.

No writing on sleeve, colours are good and clear only wear from use over the years to the sleeve , the thick card holds up well, no writing , names or stickers. the rear cover shows see photos,

on the whole a good sleeve and a great collectable " VGC plus " 1st UK press 1969 vinyl.

This is a good copy for someone looking for a wholly original 1st press of this great album. not if the buyer wants a "Mint" " or a reissue this is a "used 47 year old vinyl record and sleeve"

"Nr Mint" and some "Excellent" advertised copies are almost impossible now 500 gbp plus, iys the rarer "livin lovin wreck copy" £500+ (see my other listings)

This is a great lemon song on label A2 B2 pressing these were only produced in Red Plum with "Lemon song" on the label for the first few months of release...a bargain at £440.

on later copies "Killin Floor" was substituted for "Lemon Song " and a darker brown outer cover was used.. the early 1 st presses are now getting hard to find in reasonable condition as they were "played"

See photos.....
