Description

An original 1st press of HOTH on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A2/B2 - very 1st possible cut. Please note the labels do not exhibit any perimeter text running into the upper hemisphere and there's no WB logo - this is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve printed in England by MacNeill. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex) In great condition and has only seen light use, but does have one audible fault. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of marks - one which is feelable and detailed below. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly Ex level of playback with one significant deviation. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. On HOTH you really need a clean copy to do 'No QTR' and 'RAIN SONG' proper justice. By and large playback is very impressive.  All we detected were a few light crackles in a couple of isolated moments. And then the one significant issue is a mark in the outro to the final song 'The Ocean'. In the final 60 seconds the mark causes a number of pops/clicks. So, this is both noticeable and significant. I have checked several times and the record doesn't jump or fail to finish. But this is a significant impairment right at the end of the record. If you can live with this aberration you will still be able to pick up this genuine 1st press at a rock-bottom price.
Cover (Ex) In great condition and it's not easy finding these matt covers looking nice an tidy. This example has clearly been carefully looked after. Lovely clean front with only light handling signs. Please note there is some light fade just showing along the extreme spine edge. The rear is equally good to with no creases - just some light handling signs. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is surprisingly light and the openings are still sharp. The spine is pretty much intact, but does exhibit some light fade. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Vg+) A couple of light marks either side and  some ageing. No splits.
