Description
Here is a fantastic opportunity for the Led Zeppelin fan to own an original copy of the highly sought after first pressing of Led Zeppelin's 1969 self-titled debut album. Both the spine of the cover, and the record itself has the all important catalogue number of 588171. It was decided that the turquoise lettering and Atlantic logo on the front cover didn't match the desired image of the band, and they were swiftly changed to the orange colour you will find on most examples of the record. It is said that less than 2000 copies of the turquoise cover left the plant before the change of heart.
This is a 1st pressing, red/maroon label, turquoise sleeve lettering with ‘Superhype’ publishing credit. The Matrix has the following –
588171 A//1 1 1 5
588171 B//1 1 2 1
The centre 1 on (1 1 5) appears to be reversed as is the 2 on (1 2 1) and may be an S
This was one of the first albums I bought way back in the 70’s but as it is never played now I’ve decided to thin down my collection. The record is in a solid collectable condition. It is not mint and has been played. There is some creasing and wear on the cover, please see the photos I've provided. The vinyl itself does have minor scratches throughout.
I will send the record well packed, insured and tracked
There will be no returns or refunds
Please pay asap on winning by pay pal only
Thanks for looking
Album has been played all the way through and there is no skipping or jumping just a little static in the quieter sections. I took a recording of Dazed and Confused on my iPhone and can email to anyone who wants to hear the quality
