Description
Blue label with silver text, deep groove. Address on the label is 754 10th Avenue, New York, NY.. Side A, Bengt Hallberg, piano; Gunnar Almstedt, bass; Anders Burman, drums on 4 tracks. 2 tracks recorded on May 16, 1950 and 2 tracks recorded on December 30, 1950. Side B with the Lars Gullin Quartet. Leader, Gullin, baritone sax; Bengt Hallberg, piano; Gunnar Almstedt, bass; Jack Noren, drums. Recorded in 1951. All recordings were made in Stockholm, Sweden.
Cover: Good(-) 2"split on the tio edge at the insert edge. Tear on the front cover on the face of Hallberg. There is a fragment of a price sticker near the top edge of the front cover. Old price written in ink on the upper edge of the back cover. Also,l on the back cover is a stamped address of the original store that sold the record. Slight overall aging, extremely light.
Record: VG+ to VG++ Visually shows no wear. There are 3 or 4 very faint surface rub marks on each side. These do not affect the sound. Side A (Hallberg) Track 1, Light groove noise and some light crackles throughout the Track, slightly lighter towards the end of the Track. Track 2, faint groove noise at the beginning of the Track and a few irregular light clicks throughout the Track. Track 3 is similar but less frequent noise. Track 4 has a tiny "skip" on the 1st or 2nd revolution. Only slight, very light groove noise on 2 or 3 isolated revolutions. Side B (Gullin) Tracks 1 and 2 have 3 or 4 faint clicks and slight groove noise on 3 or 4 revolutions. All barely audible. No noise on Tracks 3 and 4. This irregular condition frequently occurs on early 10" Prestige L.P. recordings and is probably a function of the early pressing. Audibly checked.
