Description
Offered here is a highly sought-after "museum-quality" set for the serious 1950s Rock & Roll collector: a verified original 1958 first-pressing of Larry Williams' double-sided classic, Specialty 626. This is a complete matched set featuring the original vinyl, the period-accurate Specialty company sleeve, and the exceptionally rare original picture sleeve.
This is not a reissue. It features the classic "solid line" yellow label and has been verified by the "dead wax" matrix numbers:
A-Side (Dizzy, Miss Lizzy): Matrix 45-SP-626-5105 RE 5
B-Side (Slow Down): Matrix 45-SP-626-5107
The "RE 5" designation confirms this is an early master cut. Both tracks were famously covered by The Beatles in 1965, making this a cornerstone "Beatles DNA" artifact.
The value of this set is primarily driven by the original 1958 picture sleeve, which is significantly rarer than the record itself.
Condition: Structurally superior with NO seam splits, NO tape, and NO writing.
Historical Provenance: Features two tiny vintage staple holes near the top, a common "point-of-sale" artifact from 1950s record shops where receipts were often attached.
Visuals: Maintains a strong glossy finish with only very light, natural age-appropriate ring wear.
Unlike most listings where the original sleeve is lost, this set includes the authentic yellow and black Specialty Records sleeve featuring the "straight line" graphic design that perfectly matches the record label.
WHY THIS SET?
As 45 rpm values are driven by scarcity and completeness, this "triple-threat" (Verified Vinyl + Rare Picture Sleeve + Matched Company Sleeve) is rarely seen in this condition. It is a quintessential piece of American Rock & Roll history.
Shipping: Will be shipped professionally in a new clear poly-protector, with the record removed from the picture sleeve to prevent seam splits during transit.
