Description
This is LaMonte Young’s legendary 1984 recording on the Grammavision label . These original LP’s are in near-perfect condition, with stunning sound. The discs show no evidence of being played at all, perhaps never (except for sound checking for this auction) for discs 3-5. Extensive pamphlet is included that is like new, and all five original inner-sleeves are intact with no tears. The box is conservatively graded at VG+ because there is some chipping on the sides as you will typically see with this box set because of the poor quality printing used. The front artwork is gorgeous, with no chipping or scratches, and the back of the box is in great shape, with only minor markings (see pictures). The box is fully intact with no breaks or tears in any edges/corners.

Box: VG+Disc 1: NM (tiny “chip” on side, see below)
Disc 2: NM
Disc 3: NM
Disc 4: NM
Disc 5: EX/NM (some barely audible soft clicks in a few passages)
All 10 labels are in perfect, beautiful shape, with no spindle wear. The vinyl is incredibly glossy with only a few very minor scuff marks (not scratches!) on Disc 5. There are no skips, pops, or distortion of any kind. Disc 1 has a very small chip on the side (see picture) that does not come into play on either side 1 or 2. It does not even interfere with the lead-in grooves (see picture). Discs 4 and 5 have a slight warp that does not affect play. On both discs the warp is in one place and causes the cartridge to rise 1/16th of an inch – very slight.
