A sterling effort from one of James Brown's most talented finds. Wearing the producer's hat, Brown showcases the "Female Preacher" on songs and styles from standards to funk to Southern and Philly soul. On the funk tip you have "Rock Me Again & Again & Again & Again" and "How Long Can I Keep It Up." Collins injects soul and sweat into the standards "A Foggy Day" and "Try a Little Tenderness"; shows her southern roots on "Put It on the Line"; and pays homage to the sound of Philadelphia on a quality remake of "Back Stabbers" and a dramatic five-minute-plus rendition of "If You Don't Know Me by Now."

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)            The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

COVER IS STILL SEALED; HOWEVER, WE ARE UNABLE TO GRADE IT MINT OR NEAR MINT DUE TO MINOR FLAWS LISTED BELOW; WE GRADE THIS COVER AS EXCELLENT OR VG++

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        A faint water stain affects the area about 4 square inches in one corner; there is no structural damage to the cover, and both cardboard base and paper slick are intact, however, the stain is visible and has caused a slight warp in the affected area, which will NOT affect the disc.

-        Cover has two large, visible "wrinkles"(creases)  in two corners on the opening side

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged

-         Cover has a small cutout saw-mark (an indent about 3-5 mm long ) on one of its seams.

-         Visible shelf wear noted on the bottom seam and spine.

-         Cover has a visible wrinkle (crease) in the cardboard base on the back panel

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams  (yet)

-        No ring wear

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No stickers or labels

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
