Description
From the archive of noted James Brown historian, Alan Leeds.
This is a super rare test record of the UNISSUED People 45-629 by LYN COLLINS and produced by James Brown."You Can't Beat Two People In Love Part 1" / "Part 2", actually a duet with Brown himself and recorded at the same session as Brown's own "The Payback"..
In September, 1973, this record was intended for release. But before it was pressed and released, Brown decided instead to issue People 630 - "We Want To Parrty, Parrty, Parrty". with just Part 1 of "You Can't Beat Two People In Love" as the "B" Side..
Part 2 was never released on vinyl.
Test pressings were only distributed to Record company and James Brown Productions execs thus pressed in very small numbers. Few survived as most were eventually scrapped so they can be considered very rare.Plain white label.......release number and titles hand written in blue ink.
