missionsellit Store

LXT A 5302, Gold label!!! Campoli Plays Concerto's, Exc+ LP, cover VG+

Imposssible to find Decca Gold Label (1st edition 1A, 1B stampers) of Campoli recording of  Paganini-Kreisler Concerto in one Movement, and Saint Saens Concerto No.3 in B Minor London Symphony Orch. conductor Pierino Gamba.

Gold Label, it's officially never been a gold label in the UK, but in Australia, here it is!!

Label has  very little fading of the gold lettering, (All copies ever sold on eBay are the UK pressing with silver writing on the orange label)

This record from one of the great Violinists of the Mono Era, was never issued by Decca as Stereo, as were very few of any of his  recordings. So as far as I know, if you want Campoli playing these Great  Violin Concerto, the only way to get it on vinyl is through Decca LXT 5302, and in this case OZ pressed GOLD LABEL LXTA 5302

Wax No.s

side 1 ARL 3412-1A  !!!

side 2 ARL 3413-1A  !!!

Cover condition (See Photo's) VG+ due to tape and stickers .UK Printed with UK stock number LXT 5302 on front , but LXTA on rear. Laminated front, plain card rear,  flipback cover. with tape resealing what must have been lifted seams on full length of top and bottom, also those stuck down seams have a tear  underneath the tape in middle of bottom flipback. Also has original price sticker underneath tape, in shillings and pence , so sold in OZ before 1966 when we went decimal, but probably earlier than that.

Very straight, very little feathering of opening, Only real damage on cover is the start of rubbing and the now taped down seams, (old Pricesticker 57shillings sixpence =$5.75) but there are no seam splits. A few creases in closed seam due to thin cardboard cover flexing without record inside in bottom edge,  and ring wear on cover is only minimal not a wearing through to the ink color. . There is a yellowing of the white rear card, and a few dirt mark rubs. I would think it could be rated as VG+  .

LP Condition NM-(see Photo's) This record has been Preliminarily washed using a Knosti Antistat bath, followed by Last Power Cleaner and finished with Last Record Preservative (said to protect from wear damage for up to 200 plays). 'Last 'is an archive quality Cleaner,

Having said how well I have tried to preserve it for you, the disc is in overall stunning condition, Before washing I test played it all the way through, and it had no replay anomolies from any damage or wear. One small tic from a for about 6 revolutions on side A. I DO NOT THINK I HAVE HEARD MANY LXT IN SUCH AMAZING' LIKE NEW' REPLAY CONDITION.

surface noise or wear WAS ALMOSTNON EXISTANT THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF FAINT VISIBLE PAPER SCUFFS EVEN IN BRIGHT LIGHT

There is SOME MINOR  spindle wear .

Overall visually and audibly I now rate this lp AS NM- (minus.)

Inner Dust Jacket Australian all plastic, supplied,   Now the record is cleaned, I have included an archive quality dust jacket of more modern times to help preserve the current condition. Audiophile quality innersleeve is antistat non scratching sleeve by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL)

    International Buyers – Please Note:
  • Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

  • Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

NO..... I will not reduce the stated value of the LP on any customs declarations, Australia post bases its insurance on the declared value, so if I understate it I am at risk of losing its value should it go missing, You as a buyer are covered by paypal protection, so bid accordingly.

NO .... Paypal does not cover me if its not insured, I know I have looked into the situation EXTENSIVELY!!!!

Mailing costs will be significant as complete box and packing will weigh in just over 0.5 Kg. (it is a heavy old mono)  As Australia post chrges this at upto 750 grams, there is a good chance you could buy a second lp and for very little if any extra postage to fit this package. Second LP would have to be light modern vinyl to fit in for same post cost.

Combined purchases over $100 on Missionsellit get free packing and Insurance/registration so see if multiple wins can help you achieve that.

Check for Australia post cost and access to your country by emailing me or go to their web address and check it out  http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/

I will only charge you the standard air mail rate to your country, and $2 for a new custom made Mail box and packing with oversize cardboard liners for extra edge protection.

All the below are based on LP and packaging weighing  under 0.75 kilogram

They include  air mail rate(you pay)  + PACKAGING ($2 ).

please be aware delivery after posting  can still be upto 3 weeks depending how far away you are.

EUROPE (UK ETC)                $22.60,

UNITED STATES                   $18.00

ASIA (JAPAN AND CHINA)   $15.00

AUSTRALIA                          $ 7.60

Check out mailing costs to australia at the online Australia post calculator  http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/ (add $2 for new box cost) As you can see mail from Oz is quite expensive, consider multiple purchase over the next week or two to bulk up your post costs.

I CAN ONLY INSURE BASED ON THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION STATED VALUE, PLEASE BE AWARE SHOULD YOU BE LIABLE FOR ANY CUSTOMS ON A SECOND HAND LP IN YOUR COUNTRY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PAYMENT (UK, Sth Korea and Germany at least probably more, has this problem I believe)

In other words, buyers asking me to understate the customs declaration on this item need not bid, as I flatly refuse under international law to do so.  (Last Buyer who did that gave neg feedback (it was retracted obviously) as they thought it was my fault they had taxes to pay(?????)

RULES FOR BIDDING

DOES ANYBODY READ THIS?? I THINK NOT BASED ON RECENT BIDDING ACTIVITY ON MY ITEMS!! PLEASE READ...

If you have hidden feedback, or

less than 98% positive, or

less than 50 recent visible positives, (that's NEW EBAY registrations with little activity yet, that have proven your good buying habits)  THEN -

I would appreciate email contact first to establish your credentials.  Credentials mean that I need to know you will be paying with VERIFIED PAYPAL account, and I of course will only be mailing to that verified address. DON'T EXPECT TO GET MY PERMISSION IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF BIDDING, DO IT BEFOREHAND. (Buyers who have had trouble free transactions with me already qualify of course, regardless of the feedback status)

Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.

HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME

This listing in Australian dollars because I don't live in US or UK, and if you don't, WHAT A WASTE OF DOUBLE CONVERSIONS THAT WOULD BE!!!

The keen starting price offers a great opportunity to own this great recording at a reasonable starting price.
