Description
LUTHER THOMAS CREATIVE ENSEMBLE : Funky Donkey LP (Circle [GERMANY] RK 1977/15) 1977.
Record is Near Mint (our highest grade for an opened record). Cover is VG+ with a cut corner, moderate seam wear on bottom (no splits) and light ring wear. Nice German press of the first LP as leader by the great St. Louis multi-instrumentalist Luther Thomas, featuring various members of the early '70s St. Louis free music scene (Black Artists' Group/Human Arts Ensemble). This was recorded in 1973 and privately released circa 1977 on Creative Consciousness (credited to The Luther Thomas Human Arts Ensemble). This German version came out around the same time with an alternate cover. "Volume 2" was recorded at the same time but not released until the 21st Century CD reissue on Atavistic's "Unheard Music Series". Alto Saxophone – Luther ThomasBass – Eric Foreman
