Description

This is one of the Greatest RCA's of all. Catalog # LSC-2449 is Alexander Gibson conducting the Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden. "Ballet Music of Gounod and Bizet" Done by the great Decca team of Ray Minshull and Kenneth Wilkinson, this was recorded at Kingsway Hall, many reviewers put this as one of the top 3 RCA's. It is a 1/S 1/S earliest pressing, and extremely RARE. The sound is stunning. The highs are extended and dynamic. The percussion is so well recorded you would swear you are there. The cymbals in "Funeral March of a Marionette are so real I think you can hear them flex. This is the most realistic sound I have heard on any vinyl except maybe the 1/S Pines of Rome (LSC-2436). The bass is also just stunning. There is a bass extension the is incredible in its dynamic surge. I felt like the orchestra was right in front of me, and spread out in both directions about 10 feet each way. Just incredible imaging. Please don't miss your chance to get this Extremely Rare RCA, by the same recording team and conductor as "Witches Brew".

The vinyl is Mint on both sides. The cover is Mint on both sides. Truely a beautiful copy.

To all classical record collectors and audiophiles; I am now in the process of selling my entire collection. I have been a record collector of classical and jazz records for the last 40 years. I have recently decided to start liquidating my collection, which has grown too big. I have already listed many of my second, third and fourth copies of the great RCA’s and Mercury’s. I have now launched in to selling the best and last copies, from my personal collection. In the next few months I will be selling superb copies of the all of the Mercury’s and RCA’s mainly from the stereo era. Please add this to your favorites list. These are the best condition, best stamper and matrix #’s. In other words the Best of the Best. I also will sell eventually all my London Blue backs and Lyrita’s etc.
