Description

For the audiophiles collection, or for the Bob Dylan fan that wants the best sounding album ever made.  I doubt you will find another record in this mint condition.

It was played only once on a high-end turntable.  I recorded it to a ceramic Metal Master tape and then put it back in it's jacket where it remained in my smoke-free home.  I only opened it again for the pictures.  It looks as if it has never been played.  The glare on the album jacket is from the flash of the camera, but attests to the fine gloss that it has.

It is very hard for me to sell this masterpiece, but I have nothing to play it on.  My husband told me that he will not buy a turntable just to play one record.  So, My loss is your gain.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY REPRODUCTIONS AND BOOTLEGGED COPIES.  THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!  Manufactured and distributed by MFSL, Inc. (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab)

This excerpt is taken from the cardboard stiffener containing the album sleeve:

What distinguishes an Original master Recording LP from any other record?

1. Original Master Recordings are exclusively transferred from the original stereo master tape that the musicians recorded in the studio (not from a second, third, or fourth generation copy of that master tape).

2. Each Original Master Recording employs Mobile Fidelity Sound lab's exclusive half-speed mastering process, thus capturing every nuance of sound from the master tape.

3. Quality, not quantity, is the overwhelming consideration in the creation of each Original Master Recording. The number of pressings is strictly controlled. These limited editions assure you that the quality of the last pressing matches the quality of the first.

4. Original Master recordings are custom pressed overseas by the Victor Company of Japan (JVC). Super Vinyl, an exclusive compound far superior to even so-called 100% virgin vinyl, is utilized to achieve maximum clarity and startling quietness.... Super Vinyl also bestows unsurpassed durability to each Original Master Recording LP, achieving a "playing lifespan" at least five times longer than mass- produced records.

5. Each Original Master Recording is ultra-packaged to maintain flatness and prevent warping.  Original Master Recordings contain a specialty constructed heavy duty album jacket that’s supported by a rigid cardboard stiffener.  The entire package is loosely “bagged,” as opposed to the tight shrinkwrap that contributes to record warpage.  To help eliminate dust (hence surface noise), a unique static-free “rice paper” inner sleeve protects each disc.

This is Bob Dylan's first collection to feature only original compositions.  this album remains one of Dylan's greatest albums.
Following  "The Times Are A-Changin'" Dylan never again made an album as seriously world weary as this one (though some defintely come close). Not only that, this album stands as his folk/protest theme song. In just one more year Dylan would appear with an electric band and get booed for his adventurousness.

The Times They Are a-Changin' entered the United States chart at twenty, eventually going gold, and belatedly reaching four in the United Kingdom in 1965.
