RARE SIGNATURE OF ICONIC AMERICAN CAJUN MUSICIAN, DEWEY BALFA.
On this FAMED MUSICIAN from Wikipedia:
"Dewey Balfa (March 20, 1927 – June 17, 1992) was an American Cajun fiddler and singer who contributed significantly to the popularity of Cajun music. Balfa was born near Mamou, Louisiana. He is perhaps best known for his 1964 performance at the Newport Folk Festival with Gladius Thibodeaux and Vinus LeJeune, where the group received an enthusiastic response from over seventeen thousand audience members. He sang the song "Parlez Nous à Boire" in the 1981 cult film Southern Comfort, in which he had a small role."

"The Balfa Brothers (or Les Frères Balfa) were an American cajun music ensemble. Its members were five brothers; Dewey on fiddle, Will on fiddle, Rodney on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Burkeman on triangle and spoons, and Harry on Cajun accordion."
FOUND IN THE ALBUM WAS A TYPED LETTER TO RALPH RINZLER FROM DEWEY BALFA, AND DEWEY HAND-SIGNED THE LETTER. This letter discussed the possible sale of this record at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC.

"Ralph Rinzler (July 20, 1934 – July 2, 1994) was an American mandolin player, folksinger, and the co-founder of the annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the Mall every summer in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a curator for American art, music, and folk culture at the Smithsonian. This festival was from the beginning and continues to be a major event for musicians, artistans, and craftsman from a broad variety of American culture, including African American, Native American, Appalachian, Southern, Western and other groups in the United States. He was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2012."
The autograph on the letter and ALSO TWICE MORE: ON THE ALBUM JACKET AND ON THE ALBUM LABEL, has not been authenticated, but I have no doubt that it is authentic. The autograph on the letter is consistent with the autograph and handwriting on the jacket and label.
The LP was produced by Swallow Records, catalog # LP-6011, produced in 1973. The shrink remains, though tattered as seen in listing photos. The jacket has light edge and corner wear, lightly soiled on the areas not covered by the shrink, no splits or rings. There are two ink markings - the inscription on the bottom right of the front jacket and the name "Rinzler" on top left of back jacket. That second name, Rinzler, is of course the individual to whom the letter was written. The handwriting of that name is different from the signature, so it is likely the autograph of Ralph Rinzler himself, although I can't be sure. The LP was found without a sleeve; a plastic sleeve provided for this listing. The LP LOOKS VERY PLAYABLE with some very light unfeelable scratches seen over mostly clean vinyl, spindle hole wear seen, I'll grade the LP VG+.
