This is a collection of Mimaroglu's work released in 1976 on his Finnadar label. Though some of these works have found their way onto CD, this may be the only place to find eight of his Preludes for Magnetic Tape. Fans of Vladimir Ussachevsky (Mimaroglu's mentor) will appreciate Agony and Le Tombeau d'Edgar Poe, a collage of analog weirdness, disembodied voices, tape manipulation, and heavy processing. The preludes are a varied lot, featuring a ghostly piano, computerized percussion, droning synths, and much cut-up work. Also of interest is Bowery Bum, based on a painting by Dubuffet, consisting of the processed sounds of a single rubber band.
