"Alf" (BFC 39956) is the debut solo studio album by English singer Alison Moyet, released in 1984. This catalog number is the US LP release on the Columbia Records label. The album launched Moyet's solo career after the disbanding of her successful synth-pop duo, Yazoo.

  • Musical Direction: In contrast to the synth-heavy, electronic sound of Yazoo, Alf embraced a more mainstream, polished pop and soul sound. Moyet collaborated with the production and songwriting duo of Tony Swain and Steve Jolley, who had previously worked with Bananarama.
