Description

ULTRA RARE PRIVATELY PRESSED LP WITH MUSIC BY ROBERT RUSSELL BENNETT THAT APPEARED IN THE NBC TELEVISION DOCUMENTARY SERIES, PROJECT TWENTY (see description below)
This LP provides the music for the episode, Mirror of America, which was first aired on May 11, 1969, which provides a date for production of this record.  The record was produced by RCA Custom Records.  The music is by Robert Russell Bennett, Producer/Director Donald B. Hyatt.  It was found in a plain white inner sleeve, sides taped up, with an ink note as seen in the listing photos.  The record and this sleeve will be shipped in a regular LP sleeve (from a discard of mine..) for additional safety.  There are 3 other Project Twenty LPs on discogs, all featuring Robert Russell Bennett - two are RCA Custom Pressings, one other is a regular RCA Victor press: Not So Long Ago featuring Bob Hope.  This LP LOOKS QUITE PLAYABLE with a few faint scuff areas that are unfeelable over very clean vinyl, will grade VG++.
On this series from IMBD:
"These are wonderful documentaries, only a few of which are available on DVD these days. One hour, full music score and intelligent narration, they set the standard for smart, saavy entertainment via the documentary format. My favorites? All of them so far that are out, only the latter show hosted by Groucho Marx on the automobile is a bit flat. THE INNOCENT YEARS, THE GREAT WAR, THE JAZZ AGE, LIFE IN THE THIRTIES and - on VHS oddly - THE TWISTED CROSS are smart stuff indeed. END OF THE TRAIL - Indian history by Walter Brennan and THE REAL WEST by Gary Cooper are both enormously moving. Brennan and Cooper are excellent in every way. NOT SO LONG AGO, America 1945-50 is a hard to find show, hosted by Bob Hope who narrates STORY OF WILL ROGERS. You cannot find a smarter documentary series save for some recent PBS work by Dave Grubin."
On Robert Russell Bennett:  "Robert Russell Bennett (June 15, 1894 – August 18, 1981) was an American composer and arranger, best known for his orchestration of many well-known Broadway and Hollywood musicals by other composers such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, and Richard Rodgers.  In 1957 and 2008, Bennett received Tony Awards recognizing his orchestrations for Broadway shows."
