METROPOLIS was composed during 1968-69. It has been played in various forms by bands ranging from four to 25 musicians. This version for BIG-BAND was written with the assistance of an Arts Council bursary and was first presented by the London Jazz Centre Society at the Mermaid Theatre, London, on May 18, 1969
