Description
This is a British 33.3 RPM Long Playing Record by ART BLAKEY'S BIG BAND AND QUINTET featuring JOHN COLTRANE released in 1983. The title is "Ain't Life Grand". Label / Number is AFFINITY AFF 106. This is a great record with the great Jazz Drummer surrounded by such all-stars as John Coltrane, Donald Byrd, Idrees Sulleman, Al Cohn, Sahib Shihab and Walter Bishop. The sides were recorded in 1957 for the Bethlehem label. Selections include "Midriff", "Pristine", "The Outer World, "El Toro Valiente" and the Title Track. The record is signed on the back cover by Art Blakey. This item comes from the estate of a Music Photographer , who collected autographs over the years. Record has a few ultra light scuffs, but plays extremely well with fine fidelity. Labels have little wear. Cover (neatly slipped back into it's shrink wrap) has corner scuffs, an old price tag and tape on the shrink wrap (see photos).
