I bought this LP opened in November 1969

Cover - No shrink.  DJ in red/black oval sticker on cover.  Bottom of that is torn off and small sticker with 195 written on it is on DJ sticker.  That was the price tag.  Upper left corner has creases.  All the corners are bumped.  Aside from the corners, it’s in pretty nice shape.  I’ve had it in a plastic sleeve since early on.  No writing on cover itself, no cardboard splitting.

Vinyl - Some rubbing/finger like streaks/smudges.  Few light marks.  Plays just fine. White label.  “SPECIAL DISC JOCKEY RECORD” printed below FORECAST.  “NOT FOR SALE” blacked over, probably by record store.

Sleeve - Clear plastic.

Pressing Rings - Side 1 has 3 concentric rings around the spindle hole.  The first and last are faint.  I measure them as 28mm, 32mm,  38mm

Vinyl weight - 5 1/8 oz, 144-145g

FBG and 11 are mysteries to me.

Lots of James Cotton information on line.  He began and polished his career with Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy waters in the 1950’s.

By 1968 James was a star.  The liner notes have Mike Bloomfield producing this album and Mark Naftalin playing piano.  These two veterans of the Paul Butterfield band probably saw James playing in clubs maybe 10 years earlier.  Must have been special for them.

James Cotton has a superb Blues voice, and certainly knows what to do with a harmonica.

His band is alive and pours it on when necessary.  They are also comfortable just gliding when that mood is required.

Recorded in October 1968 in NYC.

Being a DJ Promo copy, this should be a 1st pressing.
