Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by Love Sculpture, Blues Helping.
This was released by Parlophone records in 1968 and has catalogue number- PMC7059 and is Mono. This is the 1st press with a yellow and black label, flipback edge sleeve. Please check the pictures for clarification.
The following is pictured below on supersize.
Condition: The sleeve has some discolouring to the rear, very light buffing to the very corners and lastly a few small lamination creases, two of which run around the spine (please check pictures) . Spine & edges Ex, no tears, bends or creases, lamination at mouth fine, no fingering indentations along mouth, flipback edges fine, complete and graded at a nice VG.
This comes with its original patents applied for inner sleeve which has a little spotting, no edge splits.
Both labels are clean, under close examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole shows some signs of wear.
Vinyl: Appearance: The vinyl on both sides looks new, Under a very stong light a few tiny feather scratches can be seen and a couple of dirt patches.
I have play tested this record through both sides and have taken the following notes.
Side 1 starts with a couple of very quiet crackles, There is a dirt patch which gives a consistent crackle on each rotation, I have given it a clean with standard cleaner and it played much better but not clear. Some way into track two once cleared of the dirt mark this then goes onto play just about perfectly, one or two quiet crackles aside. The music itself plays strong with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. There is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality to the music itself and does not suffer from any kind of lessening due to wear. As it stands this side is graded at VG, shift the dirt mark and upgrade because it quite frankly sounds superb.
Side 2, This side starts with a few quiet crackles / pops that soon clear. This side plays very well indeed with quiet breaks and entries. The music itself plays strong with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. Other than one or two very quiet crackles this side plays as new with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. This side is graded at VG+. Down-graded simply because it has been played more than a few times.
The current batch of records I am now selling on Ebay, including The Zombies, Doors, Cream, Mayall, Love Sculpture Etc have all come from the same collector. He did look after his vinyl and sleeves but obviously did not play them often as many have dust / dirt marks. Please check the records I am now listing and over the next few days as many may infact turn out to be a fantastic bargain with huge potential to upgrade most of these items when cleaned properly.
This record is graded at a very conservative VG and is certainly better than this grade suggests.
